Craig Taubman, a nationally recognized contemporary Jewish singer/songwriter, will perform Sunday, Sept. 22, in Chattanooga.

Since beginning his career as a teenager, the Los Angeles-based entertainer has performed his family-friendly music at sold-out concerts across the country and produced 11 albums. His initial success was as a children's recording artist, with songs such as "You Need a Haircut, "You Really Need a Haircut" featured on the Disney Channel and concerts like "Rock'n Toontown" at Disneyland. He has branched out into performing more adult-oriented music, most of it Jewish in nature, such as "Friday Night Live," composed for a special Shabbat service held once a month at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles.

His career also includes composing and directing music for the Fox children's series "Rimba's Island," the HBO animated series "Happily Ever After" and Shari Lewis' PBS series "Charley Horse Pizza," as well as Disney's animated short "Recycle Rex" and the feature films "Andre" and "Pinocchio."

The concert is presented by the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga in conjunction with B'nai Zion and Mizpah congregations. Tickets may be purchased by phone or at the Jewish Federation offices, 5461 North Terrace.
