Pink Floyd tribute band The Machine comes to Rhythm & Brews on Saturday - Jan. 11

photo On Saturday, Rhythm & Brews will host premiere Pink Floyd tribute artist The Machine. The band began performing about 25 years ago and has made appearances at marquee fesivals such as Germany's Rock of Ages and Bonnaroo. Its members are known for re-creating the English rock legend's signature stage presence with a show featuring state-of-the-art lighting and sound. In 2011, The Machine was featured on the Coke Stage at Riverbend during a collaborative performance alongside the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera. Saturday's set will feature selections representing a cross section of Floyd's 16-album discography. The show will begin at 9:30 p.m. with a $20 cover. Saturday, Jan. 11, Pink Floyd tribute artist The Machine will bring a bit of "Dark Side of the Moon" to Rhythm & Brews, 221 Market St. The tribute collective is the brainchild of a group of New York-based fans of the British psychedelic rockers and, since its foundation in 1989, has performed 150-180 concerts a year. In 2011, the band performed a collaborative headlining show at Riverbend with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera. Saturday's show starts at 10 p.m. Tickets are $20.
