Get your Halloween on at Chattanooga (Haunted) Market

No need to worry about the fact Halloween is on a school night or what night city leaders officially mark the spooktacular holiday. Chattanooga Market's got a plan.

Children can trick-or-treat, paint pumpkins and participate in a costume parade at Sunday's Haunted Market at First Tennessee Pavilion, according to spokeswoman Melissa Siragusa.

Party City has donated bags, according to Siragusa, and all vendors will have candy to give out. Officials from Wrigley's Manufacturing Co. also will be on hand to dole out candy and gum.

The costume parade, she said, is for children and adults. Two parades will be offered, one at noon and one at 2 p.m., on the EPB Stage.

"It's a fun way for getting [all the use] out of their costume experience," Siragusa said.

Pumpkins will be available for $3 to $6 for painting, she said.

In addition to pumpkins, fall produce such as squash, sweet potatoes, beans and tomatoes should be plentiful, Siragusa said.

Live music will be offered by Julie Gribble at 12:30 p.m. and by Chicken Little at 2 p.m.

Chicken Little is described on its website as "a post-punk, old-time duo with accordion, guitar and lots of harmonies." The Brooklyn duo features Cuomo, "a punk turned folk singer who shouts and croons three-chord acoustic songs," and Emma, "a classically trained choral singer and pianist raised on Appalachian bluegrass and oldtime country with a holler to match her vibrato."
