Perhaps the weather could be contrary for making a garden grow. But practically everything else for getting started will be available at this weekend's Spring Plant Sale & Festival at Crabtree Farms.

According to organizers, more than 180 varieties of plants will be for sale. These include vegetable starts, such as heirloom tomatoes and pickling cucumbers, as well as a selection of herbs, annual flowers and blueberry and blackberry bushes.

"All plant starts are cultivated in the greenhouse at Crabtree Farms using sustainable methods, which creates healthy and highly productive plants," organizers said in a news release.

In addition to the sale, local experts will offer talks on getting the most from your garden.

Master Gardeners will man a booth to answer gardening questions, and vendors will be selling crafts, plants and food (some vendors are Saturday only).

Hours are 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. The urban farm is at 1000 E. 30th St.
