Japan relief fundraiser tonight

Student groups at Ooltewah High School and a Cleveland, Tenn.-based worship band will come together tonight for a fundraiser designated for earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan. The event starts at 7 p.m. in the old First Baptist Church of Cleveland, 340 Church St.

Headlining the effort is the band They Came Running from Cleveland, Tenn. Formed in fall 2007, the band has toured extensively through the eastern United States, enabling a full-time music ministry.

Also scheduled during the fundraiser are a performance by the Ooltewah High School Improv Team, a skit by members of the school's Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a video about the events in Japan by the advertising class.

T-shirts are available for $10 at Ooltewah High School, 6112 Snow Hill Road; East Hamilton Middle/High School, 2015 Ooltewah Ringgold Road; and at Lee University, 1120 N. Ocoee St., Cleveland, Tenn. Anyone wearing the shirt to the concert will be admitted for free.
