Hometown singers Hall, Etheridge return for Christmas show

The Mark Kelly Hall Christmas Ensemble, with singers/songwriters Mark Kelly Hall and Charlsey Etheridge, along with a surprise special guest or two, will bring a holiday mix of original tunes and "songs you already like" to the Acoustic Café in Ringgold, Ga., on Thursday.

The family-friendly acoustic show will feature a blend of blues, pop, folk, country -- and no matching outfits, Hall promises. Music will start at 8 p.m.

Hall's songs reflect the spiritual heritage of the Bible Belt South, combined with a lifelong fascination with American pop culture. Since college, church-related volunteer work has taken him and his guitar to Puerto Rico, Harlem, Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, Minsk and, most recently, South Africa. He has performed in various local venues, including Riverbend stages and the Southern Belle.

Etheridge offers a blend of folk, pop and blues reminiscent of Sheryl Crow with a nod to Billie Holiday. When she is not onstage, she is a full-time music teacher.

Both are originally from the Chattanooga/Cleveland/Dalton area and are now based in Nashville.

"Admission is free, but as always, sincere compliments, tips and lucrative recording and/or publishing contracts will be accepted," Hall said.

The Acoustic Café is at 61 RBC Drive, near the Ringgold/LaFayette exit off I-75. For more information, go to ringgoldacoustic.com or call 706-965-2065.
