Jasper, South Pittsburg plan festivities

Residents of Marion County, Tenn., have two chances to enjoy Fourth of July fireworks this weekend.

* Jasper is holding its annual fireworks show on Saturday. The pyrotechnics, part of the town's annual "Let Freedom Ring" celebration, will begin around 9 p.m. CDT at Jasper City Park, 700 Phillips Ave.

Ball tournaments will be taking place throughout the day. Barbecue plates will be available starting at 10 a.m. CDT at Jasper Regional History Museum, 715 Phillips Ave.

* South Pittsburg will celebrate Monday at the Riverpark, beginning at 5 p.m. CDT. Entertainment will include a live band and karaoke.

According to the Parks and Recreation Department website, several local fireworks stores have donated fireworks for a show at around 9 p.m.
