Taste: An Evening of Flavors, formerly Taste of Chattanooga, brings together 20 area restaurants and food providers to offer a sampling of the great food the Scenic City has to offer.

Confirmed to attend are Belle's Cupcakes, Blacksmith's Bistro, Blue Orleans Seafood Restaurant, BrewHaus, Crepe-a-Delic, Greenlife Grocery, Joe Friday's, Lupi's Pizza Pies, Marco's Italian Bistro, Market Street Tavern, Marsha's Backstreet Cafe, Niko's Southside Grill, On the List Catering, Petunia's Silver Jalapeno, Public House, Sequatchie Cove Farms, Sitar Indian Cuisine, Southern Burger Co., Sticky Fingers and Velo Coffee.

"There's a little bit of everything," said Ann Ball, operations manager at Chattanooga Presents. "Whatever you're in the mood for, we are going to have it."

Others may sign up as the event date approaches.

The evening's festivities, which will also include music by jazz guitarist John Cady and fashions from local boutique Go Fish, will be held at Warehouse Row.

"We think it's a perfect little event space," said Ball. "It's nice and open, so we're crazy about it."

Several chefs will compete in a cooking challenge. Chefs will create dishes with ingredients provided by Greenlife Grocery and equipment from Superior Restaurant Supply.

The competing chefs are Matthew Davis from Public House, Sarah Love from On The List Catering, Roger Burrows from Marco's Italian Bistro and Eric Taslimi, formerly of Table 2. They will compete for a "cool trophy," Ball said.

Proceeds from the evening will go to the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area, whose mission is to provide information and support to those who are affected by kidney disease.

"It's always nice to know you're not only having a nice evening and enjoying yourself but also doing something nice for the Kidney Foundation," Ball said.
