The Georgia Winery is gearing up for its largest sale of the year with this weekend's Spring Wine Fest. Varietals include the limited-edition Southern Blooms, the newest addition to the line of Rock City wines.
In a news release, spokeswoman Julie Anderson said the Mother's Day weekend sale is a big hit with customers. Some stock up for their home bars, while others are looking to supply wedding guests, she said.
In addition to complimentary wine tastings, the sale offers 25 percent discounts on case purchases, winery tours (at 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday, with reservations) and all items in the gift shop. Wine Club members receive 25 percent off bottle purchases. The purchase of two cases comes with a free Georgia Winery T-shirt, while supplies last.
Attendees also can enjoy homemade wine cupcakes and $4 wine by the glass Saturday and Sunday. The vineyard patio will be open for lounging, with Sweet Georgia Sound providing the musical backdrop and door prizes awarded on the hour from 1 to 4 p.m. both days.
