Bob Bernhardt to speak 'about everything'

Most Chattanoogans know him as music director emeritus of the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, but the Jewish Cultural Center will get to the man behind the baton with a "freewheeling" interview of Bob Bernhardt on Thursday.

Prompted by Rachel Schulson, communications director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, Bernhardt will entertain with stories about his early days in Rochester, N.Y., his favorite rock bands, his love of baseball, his travels as a conductor and what he's been up to since retiring from the CSO.

The evening, billed as "an interview about everything," begins at 7 p.m. at the JCC, 5461 North Terrace. The $3 admission includes coffee and desserts.

For reservations, call 493-0270, Ext. 10, or email rsvp@jewishchattanooga.com.
