Rock-N-Ride returns in Ringgold (June 1)

Rock-N-Ride, a fundraiser for Hozho Therapeutic Equestrian Services, will saddle up Saturday, June 1, in Ringgold, Ga.

Cowboys and cowgirls will be present throughout the day to interact with the crowd. Visitors can take part in horse and pony rides, mule-driven wagon rides, an Old West jail and bail, Old West photo shoot with horses and Road Apple Bingo, among other activities. For the uninitiated, Road Apple Bingo is not played with real apples, so watch your step.

New events this year include an auction and a shooting contest for ages 16 and older.

Also debuting will be two hours of gospel music by Courtney Smith Daly and Project Illumination. They'll be followed by Tori Martin, One Night Stand, Summer Shyvonne Hullender, Metal Funk Melon, Jeff Daniel and Alabama Smith. Performer Chad Yates will close out the entertainment with a tribute to his late dad, Terry Yates.

Concessions including barbecue, beans and hot dogs will be available.

All events take place from 3 to 11 p.m. at Mystery Dog Ranch, 975 Wooten Road. Admission is $4 per person, $20 for a family of four or more.

All proceeds go to the specialized programs and scholarships at Hozho, a nonprofit serving special-needs children and adults. Programs are designed to enhance the physical, cognitive and emotional needs of the riders.
