Dr. Mark Waters, a historian and author, will share the mysterious tale of missing gold in a program at 6 p.m. today, April 24, at the Museum Center at Five Points, 200 E. Inman St., Cleveland, Tenn. "The Confederate Treasury and the Midnight Raid on Chennault, Georgia: May 24, 1865" examines the theft of the Confederate Treasury (initially $10.5 million in today's value) and a Richmond, Va., bank's assets ($9 million today) from the Chennault House, above. The equivalent of $3.6 million, mostly in $20 gold double eagles, is still unaccounted for, Waters says. The program is free for members, regular admission for nonmembers ($5 adults, $4 students and seniors). For more information, call 423-339-5745 or visit www.museumcenter.org.
