Visitors to the Monteagle Mountain Fog Festival this weekend might have cause to wonder if that mist in the air is some kind of love vapor.

Many of the activities planned for the three-day event, Friday through Sunday, Feb. 14-16, have a definite Valentine's vibe, particularly when it comes to dinner. Eateries from Dutch Maid Bakery to Harry & Ollie's Country Market & Cafe to Tallulah's Wine Lounge at the Monteagle Inn & Retreat Center will serve up gourmet meals, but Ivy Wild gets right to the heart of the matter with its Aphrodisiac Dinner - chocolate cotton candy, anyone?

Hallelujah Pottery will give demonstrations on the potter's wheel, then let watchers try their hand at the experience. Mooney's Market & Emporium will demonstrate knitting and/or yarn spinning.

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Nolan Neal will showcase his country/rock stylings at the Best Western Smokehouse Lodge, and Travis Bowlin and Laurel Taylor will entertain at Jim Oliver's Smoke House.

The St. Andrew's-Sewanee Players will offer performances of "Sweeney Todd," the work of artists from around the world will be displayed at Christ Church and the Louvin Brothers Country Music Museum will be open for free tours.

Rather stay outside? South Cumberland State Park will offer free hikes.

Each participating business will have Fog Fest signs posted outside and a complete list of activities to guide you from one stop to the next.
