Rather than ending the day with dinner and a movie, event planners at the Tennessee Aquarium will get an early start with breakfast and a movie on Saturday, Jan. 4.

"Breakfast With the Penguins in Imax 3-D" will start at 8:30 a.m. with a savory breakfast and presentation by a penguin expert in the Imax Great Hall, 201 Chestnut St.

Then guests will move into the auditorium for a showing of "Penguins 3D," which details the journey of a lifetime for a penguin and his family in the thick of Penguin City on the island of South Georgia near Antarctica.

Cost is $20 for Aquarium members, $25 for nonmembers, which includes breakfast, the penguin program, related activities, souvenir and the film ticket. The event ends at 10:15 a.m., when guests may opt for a visit to see the Aquarium's resident gentoo and macaroni penguins (separate charge for admission).

Participation at the breakfast is limited to 100, and dress is casual ... well, except for the penguins, who'll be attired in their usual finery.
