Hiker David Perry walks the Blue Blazes Trail on Moccasin Bend. The trail is open daily, but a free hike led by Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park historian Jim Ogden on Saturday, Feb. 1, will relate the history of the trail and surrounding area, stories not known to most casual visitors. The two-mile, two-hour hike will start at 9:30 a.m. from the trailhead parking area off Moccasin Bend Road south of the Moccasin Bend Golf Course (special event signs will be posted for guidance). Participants are reminded to wear appropriate clothing and footwear and to bring water for this moderate hike.
