Merchandise from New Leash on Life has found a new lease on life with the opening of Wally's Friends Thrift Store today, July 24.

According to a news release, New Leash on Life owner Kay Campbell donated her entire operation to Wally's Friends when she closed her thrift/consignment store on Ringgold Road in March.

Dr. Marcia Toumayan has offered the use of a large room at her veterinary practice, Cat Clinic of Chattanooga, 310 Cherokee Blvd., as temporary quarters for the thrift store.

"While this will not be our permanent location, this will allow us to help more animals sooner," says the news release from Wally's Friends.

THE GOODS

¦ Do donate: New and gently used pet-care products, housewares, home decor, collectibles, antiques, jewelry, clothing accessories (purses, hats, etc.), new and gently used shoes, small (working) appliances, DVDs, electronics, tools, books, craft supplies, musical instruments, baby clothes, new and gently used toys.

¦ Don't donate (until further notice): Children's and adult clothing (2 years and older), furniture, tube TVs, broken or nonworking items.

The nonprofit animal advocacy agency works to reduce pet overpopulation through high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter services for dogs and cats.

Adam Cotton will manage the thrift store. He asks that no clothing be donated at this time, nor nonworking or broken items.

Donations may be dropped off at its clinic, 155 Unaka St., at anytime or at the thrift store from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday through Monday. Hours at the thrift store are noon-5 p.m. Thursday through Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday).
