Maybe you haven't yet sprung for a $41 filet at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Nor driven to Dalton for brunch at Chelsea's on Thornton. Nor been to a function catered by A Silverware Affair.

Tonight, March 6, there's no need to guess how good their food is. Rather than narrowing your dining options from several to one, you can multiply your meals with samples from 20 food and beverage providers all in one place.

The event is Taste, a fundraiser for the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area that debuted in 2010 as a trendy revamp of the former Taste of Chattanooga.

For a $40 ticket, you get three hours of grazing time from multiple food and beverage tables set up in Stratton Hall. Admission includes unlimited samples, a souvenir wine glass and a drink ticket for wine, beer or nonalcoholic beverage. A cash bar with mixed drinks also will be available.

One of the highlights of Taste is a cooking demonstration by some of Chattanooga's top chefs. Samples of those dishes will be available too.

Local musician Ryan Oyer and his band will provide music for mingling. Strolling models will showcase fashions from Chattanooga boutiques. Local media personalities will emcee the event.

Proceeds help the Kidney Foundation provide assistance, such as transportation, food and medical equipment, to patients suffering from chronic kidney disease.
