The City of Chickamauga has announced that the construction of the 2.8 miles of sidewalks will be starting within the next two weeks. In my weekly article, I will be advising you of the areas where the roads might be partially closed due to sidewalk construction. The plan is to complete construction before school starts. The project consists of concrete sidewalks, stormwater piping and structures, and curb and gutter improvements for various locations, including West Sixth Street, Pearl Street, Cove Road, West 12th Street, Crescent Avenue, English Avenue, Glass Mill Road, West 14th Street, Euclid Avenue, Lee Street, West 10th Street, Hood Avenue and Gordon Street.
