The Tennessee Department of Transportation is driving forward with Phase II of its Apison Pike widening project with a design meeting Feb. 10.
The public is invited to Collegedale City Hall at 6 p.m. to see preliminary outlines, ask questions and voice concerns related to the portion from Old Lee Highway to Ooltewah-Ringgold Road.
"It's just basically to get their input in on the design," TDOT community relations officer Jennifer Flynn said. "[Project designers] will take any kinds of problems or questions or concerns, they will take all that into consideration."
The preliminary design calls for a continuous turning lane and two 12-foot traffic lanes, a sidewalk and bike lane in either direction. Phase II is not currently funded past the design phase. Phase 1 to connect Exit 9 to Old Lee Highway is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.
