Years of work and dedication to her business are paying off for Cassandra Tucker, owner of Divine Purity Naturals. Her dream of owning her own storefront became a reality Feb. 4 when she formally opened her location at 739 Ashland Terrace.

"This location picked me," she said. "We'd been approached about having a permanent location before, but didn't think we'd be able to afford it."

Divine Purity has operated out of the Chattanooga Market since Tucker first started creating her holistic beauty products in 2012. She quit her job as a loan processor at a high-risk loan company in 2014 to focus on her business full time, and her husband joined her a year later.

While success over the summer and holidays has been ripe for the picking, she said, the lull when the market closed after Christmas each year made for tough times.

Now, with a permanent storefront selling her goods and homemade wares from other artisans in the Chattanooga area, the opportunities seem abundant.

Her numbers have tripled from year to year in regard to customers, and her new convenient location should amplify that, she said.

"People tell me all the time how thankful they are they won't have to fight Chattanooga Market traffic to stop by now," said Tucker. "I think people are opening their eyes to a more holistic approach to get their needs met. They don't have to go out and buy products with chemicals that cause adverse effects, and they can buy local, too."

Tucker credits her faith in God for getting her through some of the hard times, especially when she still worked at the loan company, which she said went against everything she believes in. Focusing on her business full time was one of the best decisions she said she has ever made.

The new storefront solidifies that, and the mother of two feels like she's found purpose with her career.

"Since I've found this, things feel like they're happening effortlessly," she said. "I can trust and have faith that things will work."
