* Date opened: Feb. 20. One of 180-plus locations nationwide, it is the first in Hamilton County. "We are thrilled to be growing our footprint in Tennessee, and in particular, the community of Chattanooga," said CEO Michael Parrella.

* Goal: To help locals get fit through a more engaging workout routine. Studies have shown that many people stop exercising due to boredom. Each iLoveKickboxing class combats that through exciting workouts that incorporate four different fighting styles: boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai and Sanshou.

* How it works: With each class, members perform genuine conditioning drills and fighting techniques with punching bags to get a full-body workout that builds lean muscle. The hour-long classes also helps them burn calories fast through interval training, meaning several different workouts are done within a short time frame, and after about 15 minutes, the body also begins to burn fat. Most importantly, said fitness instructor Jason Edwards, "[Clients] get to relieve their stress and have some fun hitting something that doesn't hit them back."

* Calories burned per class: 450-800, depending on size of the person and workout intensity.

* What makes it different: Each of Tennessee's three locations has its own appeal, but Edwards says it's the staff at the Chattanooga location that sets it apart. They are open-minded, energetic and eager to help visitors reach their specific fitness goals. "What we try to do is really connect with them and make them understand that we're on this journey with them and that we work out with them," Edwards said. "They're not in this alone. They have us as support."

* Community response: The facility is true to its name. "Everybody who's come in has told us that they really love it," Edwards said. "It's a fun workout, it's challenging, exactly what they're looking for."

* Getting started: Residents can see if the workout is for them by signing up for a three-class special online, where they will register for a free fitness report and a free pair of boxing gloves.

* Age limit: Classes are open to anyone 13 or older. Those under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

* Address: 1309 Panorama Drive

* Hours: Morning classes start at 6 a.m.; later classes range from 1-3 p.m. The studio will eventually be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
