One hundred thirty years after the invention of vinyl records, the first annual "Record Store Day," celebrating independently owned record stores, was held.

Ten years later, Record Store Day has become a worldwide event - and one that, naturally, the hip North Shore is quick to celebrate. On April 22, Brewhaus is hosting its 3rd Annual Dogfish Head Record Store Day, featuring a bevy of refreshing beers and giveaways.

Delaware-based Dogfish Head Brewery is the official beer supplier for the event, Brewhaus bar manager Michael Nolan told me. Brewhaus' taps will highlight its 60 Minute IPA, 120 Minute IPA and "Beer to Drink Music to," described as a tropical blonde, brewed with kiwi juice and hibiscus flowers.

When you order any Dogfish brew, you will be instantly entered to win a Dogfish Head Record Store Day record player, among other prizes. Moreover, when you bring in your receipt from Chad's Records, conveniently located just down the street, Brewhaus will give you 15 percent off your bill.

Brewhaus' Record Store Day is an all-day, all-ages event. Live music is scheduled for 6-11 p.m., which may even provide inspiration for starting your very own record collection.

After all, you're only 130 years late to the party.
