Every time a Five Guys restaurant turns 10 years old, it gets a radical face-lift — and floor-lift and furniture-lift and ceiling-lift. Basically, every aspect of its interior is upgraded.
In August, Five Guys’ Hixson restaurant celebrated 10 years with this ritual remodel. Then, in November, the Gunbarrel Road restaurant also turned 10. After a 22-day renovation, it has now reopened, shiny and new.
The improvements include new tile, new paint, new tables and chairs made of real wood, and new energy-efficient LED pendant lights. The dining area now features two Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, each offering more than 110 soda flavors, fruit juices and flavored waters.
Even the bathrooms were fitted with new stainless steel fixtures.
“We completely refreshed the restaurant,” said Jim Richards, co-owner of the local Five Guys locations.
But while the interior is now spanking-new, the menu, Jim assured, still features the same great burgers and fries, made fresh every day. The burgers are hand-pattied, the potatoes are hand-cut, and the milkshakes, featuring freshly chopped fruit, are hand-blended.

Indeed, thanks to Five Guys, the Tennessee Valley is fresher than ever. And that is something to celebrate.
