Adding flavor to your mid-workweek, Brewhaus is a tasty place to be every Wednesday night - as long as you love the flavor of fresh hops and malted barley, that is.

Each Wednesday from 6:30-9 p.m., Brewhaus hosts a "tap takeover" event, during which a different craft brewery is spotlighted and a selection of its brews is showcased. Also featured on those nights is live music by local favorite Dan "Danimal" Pinson.

Indeed, Wednesdays at Brewhaus are both rousing and delicious - and are rivaled only by Mondays, when Brewhaus offers $3 half-liters of select draft beers.

Basically, explained co-owner Hunter Hart, the only draft selections not served in liters or half-liters are high-alcohol-by-volume beers.

"Serving 9-percent [alcohol by volume] beers in liters is kind of irresponsible," said Hunter, like a true professional.

When it comes to owning a bar, it takes a true professional to determine between "too much," "just enough" and "not enough" - which brings me to Brewhaus' Sunday brunch - and its $3 mimosas.

"We don't cheat with Champagne flutes," Hunter said. "Our mimosas aren't little 4-ounce pours. We use real wine glasses."

In addition to mimosa deals, Brewhaus offers 15 percent off draft brews and featured cocktails during brunch. And - by no mistake, I'm sure - its brunch eats are hearty enough to offset those generously poured libations. For example, the "Bismarck," Brewhaus' German-inspired take on eggs Benedict, substitutes schnitzel for the ham, topped off with Hollandaise sauce and sprinkled with Gouda and paprika.

Yes, fans of flavorful food and craft beer will certainly find that Brewhaus is a mighty tasty place to be, regardless of the day of the week.
