In honor of Father’s Day, Forbidden City is featuring an all-day dinner buffet Sunday, June 18.

But, if you promise not to tell dear old Dad, I’ll let you in on a secret: Forbidden City serves dinner all day every Sunday, when diners can take advantage of expanded all-you-can-eat options such as salt-and-pepper shrimp, frog legs, salmon, fried shrimp, steak and more.

While Sunday is one of the most popular days to dine at Forbidden City, its lunch bar — served Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. — is also impressive.

Any day of the week, the restaurant’s ethnic flavors include short-necked clams served in broth, sweet steam buns, kimchi and buttery seafood stew. Forbidden City also offers classic dishes such as baked salmon, chicken wings and barbecue spare-ribs dripping with sweet sauce. Meanwhile, those who don’t eat meat will relish filling options such as fried cheese wontons, fried hunks of tofu tossed with mixed veggies, and even macaroni and cheese.

The restaurant also has endless sushi options, a make-your-own hibachi station and a vast dessert selection, with options including hand-scooped ice cream and fried donuts, that’s fit for a king — or a dad — because, at least on June 18, the two should be synonymous.
