Happy Mother’s Day! What better day to talk about homemade cakes and cobblers? Or, for that matter, dining out? Mother’s Day is, after all, the most popular dining-out day of the year.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean having to brave crowds. Open 24/7, Track’s End gives you endless hours every day to treat Mom to breakfast, lunch, dinner and — most importantly — dessert.

“We’re switching gears with new spring and summer desserts,” said General Manager Stacy Cofer.

Sweet seasonal options showcase more fruity flavors, including strawberry cake, blueberry cake, Key lime cake, apple delight, apple dump cake and peach cobbler.

“But that triple chocolate cake that Julie [Hudson] makes is a big hit, too,” said fellow cook Christy Shrader.

Triple chocolate cake notwithstanding, when it comes to meals, Stacy said, this time of year she notices her patrons tend to forgo hot-and-hearty dishes and instead choose light, fresh entrées such as soups, salads and sandwiches, including its enormously portioned Chef’s salad and its triple-decker club sandwich.

Heavy beef stew is out, and lighter chicken cheese broccoli soup is in. Likewise, Track’s End popular grilled vegetable casserole and its sweet potato casserole are both back.

All of Track’s End’s dishes are scratch-made, often using family recipes. Like chocolate cake, homemade is always in season — not to mention a delicious way to honor Mom on her special day.
