MOTHER’S DAYThe busiest dining day of the year is right around the corner. Why not let the professionals help? Family-owned and operated for more than 20 years, Acropolis might be the ideal spot for you and Mom.

The first warm winds have arrived to the Scenic City, stirring up appetites for both the outdoors and refreshing libations. Acropolis’ spring-forward bar menu channels all the freshness of spring with dozens of light and crisp cocktails.

For example, the restaurant’s featured cocktail is currently the Absolut lime cosmo, made with Absolut lime vodka, Sugar Island spiced rum, peach schnaaps, pineapple juice, grenadine and blue curacao — striking the perfect balance between sharp and sweet flavors.

Or, perhaps instead of fruit, warm weather makes you crave garden-fresh herbs — in which case, you might enjoy the creative Greek mint limeade, made with Ouzo No. 12, triple sec, fresh lemon juice, fresh lime juice and cherry.

Sweet, sour and showcasing a signature Greek spirit, the Ouzo No. 12 highlights all that Acropolis does best. For all of its food and drink diversity, Acropolis specializes in Mediterranean fare.

Complementing its large, covered patio, Acropolis offers a number of shareable small plates, or “meze,” as they are called in Greek.

There are the housemade potato chips, served with feta, mozzarella, gyro meat, olives, onions, lettuce and topped with tzatziki, basil pesto and tomato-cucumber relish. Or, the best-selling lamb lollipops come with three tender lamb chops served over Greek fries with roasted red peppers and tzatziki.

As spring arrives in full flavor force, Acropolis has your warmer-weather sustenance covered, with menus as varied as the new season’s growth.
