Every January, diners are often forced to choose between keeping warm with hearty eats and making good on their New Year’s resolution to lose weight. No matter which option you choose, Acropolis has you covered.

“If you’re trying to stay true to those diets, our focus is on healthier proteins, with lots of vegetarian options,” said owner Nick Kyriakidis.

Among the restaurant’s seafood selection, there is fresh grilled salmon, pan-seared grouper, locally farmed trout and more. Its variety of salads is equally varied, with refreshing options such as the signature Greek, Mediterranean Cobb, Southern pecan and more.

“Being in the middle of winter, too, we have winter greens and [sides like] braised Brussels sprouts,” Nick said. “Of course, if you’re wanting to celebrate and go decadent, we can do that, too.”

Alongside its healthy eats, Acropolis features a number of rich comfort foods. There is braised lamb shank, house-ground sirloin and pot roast — a dish so popular that it is served year-round. And then there is the restaurant’s on-site bakery, filled with more than a dozen homemade desserts.

For those who wish to indulge, there is baklava cheesecake, Key lime pie and German chocolate cake, to name just a few options. But if you remain resolute in keeping your New Year’s vows, don’t stress — the restaurant serves slices of sugar-free strawberry cake, too.
