Summer has arrived early to the Scenic City. For Dari Dip, that’s meant diners trading their cobbler and brownie sundae orders for all-things ice cream.

This time of year, Dari Dip’s cold confections — shakes, sherbet and hand-scooped ice cream flavors galore — steal the menu spotlight.

Hand-scooped ice cream flavors include “Moose Tracks,” “Turtle Tracks,” rocky road, butter pecan, strawberry, cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, black cherry, sugar-free vanilla and birthday cake. Shake flavors are peanut butter, vanilla, banana, butterscotch, pineapple, chocolate and caramel. There are also sundaes, smoothies and banana splits.

And, of course, there is the best-selling sherbet, often ordered as a “swirl,” featuring orange sherbet swirled with creamy vanilla soft serve.

Indeed, there is something for everyone at Dari Dip — and not only regarding the restaurant’s desserts. Dari Dip’s lunch and dinner menu is also enormously varied, with options including salads, steaks and seafood.

Lighter, warm-weather options include cold plates such as the chicken salad and tuna salad. And then there are the diner-classic “quickies,” such as the 90-cent Dari burger, hand-patted daily and served with mustard, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle.

But if a meal of burger and fries sounds too heavy this hot summer season, the menu also boasts a number of salads and seafood platters sure to satisfy any appetite.

Or, just make a meal of the restaurant’s ice cream by adding toppings to your sweet treat: whipped cream, chopped fruit or wet walnuts, for example. It’s already summer, after all. Stay cool however you can.
