The past year has been big for Home Slice, Chattanooga’s newest pizzeria, which is quickly becoming a local favorite.

The restaurant has gone from three employees to 20. Its dining hall will soon be expanded from 20 seats to 100.

“We’ve done half a million dollars in sales,” said General Manager Josiah Johnson. “Numbers are increasing every month since we opened.”

On Thursday, May 24, Home Slice will celebrate its official one-year anniversary, featuring a deal as big as its success over the past 12 months. All day, the pizzeria will offer its satisfyingly soft and warm garlic knots appetizer — normally $5 — for $1.

“Our business is built on our reoccurring guests,” said Josiah. “We have a lot of faithfuls.”

And Home Slice also has high hopes for an even bigger second year. This summer, in addition to the extra seating, the restaurant will introduce new sandwiches, pizzas and pastas to its menu.

“We’re also actively looking for a second location,” Josiah said, adding that locations have been scouted from Collegedale to Red Bank to Brainerd Road.

“We’re not sure where it will be yet,” Josiah said. “But for sure, it’s happening.”
