Chattanooga's 15 biggest building projects of 2015

Builders began construction in 2015 on $467.5 million of new projects in the city of Chattanooga. The 15 biggest projects started last year, based upon city building inspection reports, were:

1. A 10-story apartment, office and parking facility with 125 rental units at 728 Market St., $24.8 million

2. Volkswagen expansion in the Enterprise Center South industrial park, including body shop and tech center remodel, $17.1 million

3. The Edwin Hotel, a 90-unit boutique inn at 102 Walnut Street, $12 million

4. Gold building renovation for a new Westin Hotel at 801 Pine Street, $12 million

5. Moccasin Bend wastewater treatment plant disinfection system upgrade at 455 Moccasin Bend Road, $8 million

6. Erlanger East operating room and bed tower additions at 1755 Gunbarrel Road, $50 million

7. An 84-unit apartment complex on the North Shore at 10 Cherokee Boulevard, $10.5 million

8. Dominion Senior Living facility at 2143 North Point Blvd. in Hixson, $5 million

9. Gestamp automotive supply plant at 3063 Hickory Valley Road, $4.8 million

10. Yanfeng Automotive Interiors plant in the renovated industrial site at 7463 Bonnyshire Drive, $4.5 million

11. Polestar Development new grocery store and fuel center, 4110 Shallowford Road, $4.5 million

12. Gestamp automotive supply plant at 8001 Volkswagen Drive, $3.7 million

13. Tomorrow Building apartments and office complex at 818 Georgia Ave., $3.5 million

14. City of Chattanooga Eastgate Family Justice Center renovation, $3.5 million

15. New Tire Discounter stores at 5681 Highway 153 and 6242 Lee Highway, $3 million
