Wednesday, June 21: Have Lunch with Us

* When and where: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Miller Plaza's Waterhouse Pavilion downtown (seeing a trend? Good. All our marketplaces take place at the Waterhouse Pavilion from 10 to 2.)

* Look for vendors like: Calamansi Café

A catering service and pop-up restaurant, Filipino-American fusion Calamansi Café shares cuisine that feels like home to some and adventure to others. Calamansi plans to open a restaurant this fall, but you'll get a sneak peek (and taste) of their menu items at DIVERSIFY.

Thursday, June 22

Friday, June 23

* What: DIVERSIFY Luncheon

* When and where: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center (Nope, not Waterhouse Pavilion. While there may be something fun going on there, you won't find DIVERSIFY or Isabel Wilkerson, or your friendly Chamber staff.)

* Look for: Keynote speaker Isabel Wilkerson

Isabel Wilkerson is the first African-American female journalist to win a Pulitzer Prize. She's also author of The New York Times bestseller "The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration."

"The Warmth of Other Suns," the basis of Wilkerson's DIVERSIFY presentation, explores the impact of decades of migration in which African-American citizens left the South for Northern and Western cities, reshaping American culture and politics and launching the racial challenges our country faces today.

Wilkerson spent 15 years interviewing more than 1,200 people and unearthing archival works to complete the book, which appeared on The New York Times Magazine list of All-Time Best Books of Nonfiction and received the NAACP Image Award for Best Literary Debut.

Stick around after the DIVERSIFY luncheon for a book-signing session.
