A renovated and revived downtown Chattanooga fixture could bring a little history to your holdings.

The Clemons Lofts, originally built in 1918 as an office headquarters for a furniture business, was fully repurposed in 2016.

Located on the 700 block of Chestnut Street, 54 loft-style apartments were built in the six-story structure by a Chattanooga development group.

Broker Capstone Apartment Partners says the "live, work, play location" offers quality of life and walkability. The apartment complex is located adjacent to the Westin Hotel mixed-use development that's currently going up.

The Clemons project was started in the fall 2014, completed without public money and came in under its $7.4 million budget, according to the developer.

Downtown is seeing an array of new development. Some 2,500 apartments, 260 condominiums and more than 1,000 beds for University of Tennessee at Chattanooga students are either under construction or on the planning board, according to the River City Company. Additionally, more than 700 hotel rooms and nearly 600,000 square feet of commercial space are being added downtown.
