On the menu: Champy's Chicken

* Where: Champy's Chicken, 526 E. M.L. King Blvd.

* What: Champy's is known for its fried chicken and tamales, but the crawfish are quickly catching on, though they're not as familiar here as in the Delta, said owner Seth Champion. "I have to show people how to eat them, but once they do, they rave about them," he said. Once crawfish season is over, around mid-May, they won't be back till next year, so get them while they last. They're served on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights only. With advance notice, Champy's will bring the party to you, cooking crawfish for gatherings.

* Price: $9.95 (one pound of crawfish with corn and potatoes).

* Phone: 752-9054.

* Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday; 11 a.m.-midnight Thursday-Saturday.
