Delta cancels 90 flights Wednesday, works toward normal operations

ATLANTA - Delta Air Lines canceled about 90 flights scheduled for Wednesday morning, after canceling 1,775 flights over the previous two days following a computer outage.

Atlanta-based Delta entered the day optimistically after a harrowing Monday and Tuesday that left travelers stranded and frustrated.

"The outlook for Wednesday's operation is positive," Delta said in an update on its website. The 90 cancellations at the beginning of the day were expected to lead to normal operations by midday.

Travelers should continue to check their flight status. The airline is waiving certain change fees for travelers booked to fly Wednesday who want to reschedule their travel to a later date through Aug. 21.
