According to meatlessmonday.com, going meatless once a week may reduce the risk of chronic preventable conditions like cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. It can also help reduce your carbon footprint and save precious resources like fresh water and fossil fuel. So, what's not to love? Take a bite out of these delicious black bean burgers and save more than a few calories.

Ingredients

2 (15 ounce) cans black beans, rinsed and drained

1 sweet onion, minced

2/3 cup breadcrumbs

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons sweet basil

2 tablespoons dried oregano

1 teaspoon cumin

2 eggs

Salt and pepper

Directions

Place black beans in a bowl and mash with a fork.

Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Divide into 6-8 equal portions and shape into patties.

Place patties on a medium-hot grill for several minutes per side.
