One of the area's most popular blue holes and hiking trails is currently closed while contractors install electrical and water lines to support a new ranger station.

On May 9, Cumberland Trail officials announced a complete shutdown of the North Chickamauga Creek State Natural Area segment, which spans from Stevenson Branch campsite to Montlake Road and includes access to the North Chick Blue Hole and North Chickamauga Trailhead parking area.

Violators will be ticketed and towed. But don't be too upset. Construction is expected to take two to six weeks, so that blue hole should be back open before summer heat is upon us.
