Rascal Flatts joins state's anti-litter campaign

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country trio Rascal Flatts is joining Tennessee's anti-litter campaign.

Rascal Flatts members Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus are featured in a new 30-second television public service announcement and on billboards across the state encouraging Tennesseans to "show your pride and adopt a highway today."

In the TV spot, Rooney picks up a piece of litter tossed alongside a road and asks, "Think this is no big deal?" LeVox says, "Think about 12 million pounds of it."

The state's "adopt-a-highway" program began in 1989. Since then, volunteers have collected more than 12 million pounds of litter from Tennessee's roadsides.
