A former Dalton High School Catamounts singer is featured in the next installment of the Spigel Summer Concert Series at the Creative Arts Guild in Dalton, Ga.
Lizzie Hebel Thomas will be accompanied by contemporary jazz ensemble The Dave Pope Trio. The Band With No Name, featuring vocalist Lori McDaniels, will open. The concert is set for 7:30 tonight in the CAG performance hall, 520 W. Waugh St.
According to guild officials, Thomas is known for her authentic phrasing and playful interpretations of new American songbook standards from the 1920s through the 1940s.
This is the fifth installment of the concert series. Still to come are the Etowah Jazz Society on Sept. 2 and Francine Reed, with Elizabeth Reed opening, on Sept. 17.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students. Reserved tables are $10. Concessions will be available, or attendees may bring their own food and beverages to enjoy during the evening.
