Local releases, book signings

Sisters Esther Myhan and Lucille Allensworth will sign copies of their new book, "Prejudice Within Your Race," at noon Saturday at the New City Fellowship Evangel House, 2323 E. Third St.

The 90-page hardback collection of stories and events deals with stereotyping and addresses such issues of prejudice as "light-skinned versus dark-skinned" people.

The sisters grew up in Chattanooga's Southside community, and they share their stories and those of others about the impact of prejudice by their own people.

"This book pulled on every emotion and made me rethink the many instances I commented on an ethnic group," said Ann Sanford in a news release.
