'Take Art/Leave Art'

The Association for Visual Art's "Take Art/Leave Art' exhibit is a community-based collaborative in which artists were asked to donate as much of their work as they would like to exchange for. Nothing was considered too good, too bad or too weird to submit.

An opening reception for the show will be held Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Everyone who attends will be allowed to take two works of his or her choosing, as long as they are replaced with other pieces. Through April 1 at 5 p.m., artists can bring as many works as they want to trade out for what is left on the walls.

Artists were encouraged to bring paintings, sculptures, sketches, crafts, drawings, videos, songs, ceramics, floral arrangements, doodles, prints, photographs, walking sticks, poems, found objects, shoes, Christmas ornaments, macramé, dolls, ideas, thought experiments or whatever they considered art.

AVA, 30 Frazier Ave., is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Call 265-4282.
