'See How They Run' closes season at Lee

Lee University Theatre will present the final installment of its spring theater season with Phillip King's comedy "See How They Run." Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. April 20-22 in the Dixon Center auditorium on the Cleveland, Tenn., campus.

The action in this 1940s British comedy is fast and frenzied. Galloping in and out of the four doors of an English vicarage are an American actor and actress, a cockney maid who has seen too many American movies, four men in clergymen suits (who are not all clergy) and a sedate bishop aghast at all these goings-on and the trumped-up stories they tell him.

"This play is particularly challenging because we must so meticulously rehearse every entrance and exit," said director Dan Buck, assistant professor of theater. "Every prop must be placed precisely and every line delivered perfectly, or the whole thing could come apart."

Performances will feature students Garrett Boyd, Carly Weaver, Charise Jordan, Christiana Alexandersen, Zachary Arms, Nathan Tullos, Chase Hall, Jonathan Swindle, Michael Bachman and Alexis Kaisharis.

The play is recommended for ages 8 and up. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students. The box office is open 3-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and an hour before showtime.
