Rugby, Tenn., hosts its annual antique car show Saturday

Classic cars in three categories -- pre-World War II, post-World War II and street rods -- will be on view Saturday in historic Rugby, Tenn.

The second annual Antique Car Show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT.

Arts and crafts vendors will be set up on the front lawn of the Harrow Road Café for shopping opportunities. The cafe will be open 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Smoked pulled pork will be featured on the dinner menu.

Admission is free to spectators, though they may vote for a favorite car for a $1 donation. All proceeds benefit Appalachian Habitat for Humanity and Historic Rugby. A Peoples Choice Award trophy and prizes will be awarded to the most popular show entry.

Anyone with an antique car they'd like to show may call 1-888-214-3400 or email rugbylegacy@highland.net to check on space availability. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Community Building behind the Visitor Centre. Cost is $10 per car.

Overnight lodging is available at 1880 Newbury House or Historic Rugby's cottages.

Rugby is on state Scenic Highway 52, between Jamestown and Huntsville on the Cumberland Plateau.
