Birds of prey shows and music by the New Binkley Brothers are the traditional draws for Summer Music Weekends at Rock City Gardens. But this extra programming, normally limited to weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day, gets a little boost the week of July Fourth.

So in addition to the New Binkley Brothers' normal gig from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Daniel Binkley, Matt Downer and Clark Williams also will entertain Wednesday.

The Rock City Raptors shows will spread their wings even more, with daily shows through July 8. They'll take place at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. each day, with additional 4:30 p.m. shows on Saturdays.

The New Binkley Brothers' jam sessions take place at Lover's Leap, which now has elevated seating for enjoying the entertainment and the views. Visitors are welcome to take concessions into the seating area to enjoy while listening to the trio's old-time music.

The birds of prey shows are presented in the Critter Classroom by Save Our American Raptors. Included are hawks, owls, vultures and bald eagles.

Also new this season are audio tours through the Enchanted Trail and a sculpture by Jack Denton called "Villa Aviana," crafted to look as if birds built their own Rock City birdhouse.

Activities such as panning for gems, the rock-climbing wall and Fairyland Forest makeovers have an additional charge.

Rock City, 1400 Patten Road, is open 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Admission is $18.95 adults, $10.95 ages 3-12.
