The annual Cellarbration blind wine tasting and contest is scheduled tonight at the Walden Club, 633 Chestnut St., Suite 2100.
Proceeds from the gala, set for 7 to 10 p.m., will benefit the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.
Hors d'oeuvres and wine will be served. Guests will have a chance to win a wine cellar stocked with an initial value of $500, compliments of the Walden Club and Athens Distributing. Its value increases as guests arrive and add their wine contributions.
"Participants will be in teams of one or two and must bring three bottles of the same red wine," explained Amy Jo Osborn, co-founder of the foundation. "Two of the bottles will be covered and numbered for voting, and the third bottle will be placed in the 'cellar.'"
At the end of the night, she said, the team whose wines rate the most votes will win the entire cellar stock.
Admission is $30 plus three bottles of the same red wine. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at Hatcherfoundation.org/cellarbration.
