The Performing Arts Alliance of Rural Tennessee will present an evening of classical music for its First Friday event in November. The show is scheduled Friday, Nov. 2, at the Palace Theatre in downtown Crossville, Tenn. Featured performers will be clarinetist Wonkak Kim and the Tesla Quartet.

The Korean-born Kim has been praised for his "excellent breath control" (The Washington Post) and "beautifully balanced and blended tone" (Fanfare). Since his solo debut with Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, he has played hundreds of venues on four continents and won multiple international awards.

The Tesla Quartet was formed at The Juilliard School in 2008 and won second prize at the J.C. Arriaga Chamber Music Competition only a few months later. That achievement was followed by a gold medal at the 2012 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and third prize in the 2012 London International String Quartet Competition. The quartet features violinists Ross Snyder and Michelle Lie, violist Megan Mason and cellist Kimberly Patterson.
