Three upcoming concerts presented by the UTC Music Department will feature a bevy of guest artists. First up are trombone players, followed by two vocalists and finishing up with a conductor and two pianists.

• Today, Nov. 15: The UTC Flute Ensemble, directed by Heather Small, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Patten Chapel, 648 Oak St. The flutists will be joined by the Southern Adventist University Trombone Choir, directed by Robert Pendergast.
The program will include Gustav Holst's "The Planets." Each movement in the seven-movement suite represents a planet of the solar system and its corresponding astrological character.
Also being performed are two movements of a new flute quartet by Eric Ewazan, titled "Harmony in Blue and Gold," inspired by James McNeill Whistler's Peacock Room, a mural masterpiece. Also featured will be "Masques" by Anne McGinty and compositions by Susato, Philip Bliss, Gliere and The Beatles.
• Saturday, Nov. 16: UTC's Jazz Band, directed by Erika Schafer, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine St. Guest vocalists are Courtney Reid and Danny Martin.
The program will highlight a variety of styles and artists, including "Afro Blue" by Mongo Santamaria, "Impressions" by John Coltrane, "Ran Kan Kan" by Tito Puente, "Red Clay" by Freddie Hubbard and "I Put a Spell on You" by Jay Hawkins.
• Tuesday, Nov. 20: The UTC Orchestra, directed by Jooyong Ahn, will be joined by guest conductor Daemyung Cho and guest pianists Sylvia Hong and Michael Rector, in a performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall.
The first half of the concert will consist of Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 4 (Tragic) in C Minor, conducted by Cho. The latter half of the program features the pianists in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos, K. 365, E-flat Major, directed by Ahn.
