Two entertainers who grew up in Chattanooga will perform for their classmates and other hometown fans Sunday.

Classic Soul Sunday, featuring David Anthony with special guest Tonee Valentine, is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. at Mocha Restaurant & Music Lounge, 3116 Brainerd Road.

Anthony, who lives in Chattanooga, is the musical director for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members The Impressions. In addition to his solo work, he performs regularly with his band, The Gentlemen's Jazz Quartet.

Valentine, based in Atlanta, has worked as a solo artist as well as studio musician with several country and gospel artists. He toured in the 1980s with acts including Teddy Pendergrass, The Impressions and the SOS Band.

Both performers are Orchard Knob Junior High School alumni, and Anthony is a 1973 Riverside High School graduate. The concert is being held to raise funds for the Riverside class's 40-year reunion, to be held Sept. 1 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Denise Sales, a member of the planning committee, said the concert is open to everyone, but organizers especially hope to see Class of '73 graduates as well as anyone who attended Orchard Knob Junior High during the years of 1969 to 1983.

Tickets to the concert are $15 and will be available at the door. For more information, call 456-4556 or visit www.mochajazz.net.
