Centerstone in Hamilton County has announced its next series of Parents as Tender Healers certification courses, which are required by the Tennessee Department of Children's Services for all potential foster and adoptive parents in the state.
The 12 classes, which will meet at Centerstone, 6110 Shallowford Road, Suite B, will begin Tuesday and meet weekly through April 16. Classes meet from 6 to 9 p.m., with the exception of March 12 and 19, when classes will meet from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
PATH courses equip parents with a fundamental knowledge of the child welfare system, effective discipline, first aid and CPR, medication administration and other physical and emotional needs their adoptive or foster children may have.
