Three local teams of fathers and sons will be leaving today for the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., and you can follow their adventure on their blog.

All three will be flying Super Decathalon stunt model planes. The two-seat light airplanes are capable of sustaining high-G aerobatic stresses, which means they can fly upside down and in loops.

Dr. Don Chamberlain will be flying with his father, Frank, while Ken Hunt will be flying with son, Max, and Calib Huff will be flying with his father, Jim. It will be primarily the responsibility of Calib and Max to update the blog, which will detail both the flight to and from Oshkosh, as well as what they see at the show.

In addition, the six plan to visit American Champion Aircraft, where all three Super Decathalon airplanes were originally made.

AirVenture, which begins Monday and runs through Aug. 4, is one of the largest aviation events in the world, attracting more than 500,000 visitors and 10,000 airplanes.
